The Hidden Dangers of Acetaminophen (Tylenol) on Liver Health

I recently came across some alarming information about acetaminophen, commonly known as Tylenol or paracetamol, and its impact on liver health. Here's what I found:

Acetaminophen is the leading cause of liver failure. It causes non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and can actually dissolve liver tissue.

Studies suggest that acetaminophen is responsible for 50% of all liver failures and is the primary reason for most liver transplants in the United States.

Just one Tylenol can cause as much damage as 6 pints of beer. When combined with alcohol, the damage can increase 20-30 times because they accelerate each other's harmful effects.

It's also worth noting that combining acetaminophen with high fructose corn syrup drinks or artificially sweetened diet drinks can accelerate liver damage.

This information is quite concerning, especially for those of us who might reach for Tylenol without thinking about the potential consequences.

Have any of you experienced issues or known someone who has? Let's discuss the importance of being cautious with over-the-counter medications and how we can raise awareness about this issue.

Do you know who she is? Do you know her story? I mixed it up with her a bit on X in one of the previous incarnations of myself on X. Strong woman, another remarkable recovery story. I recently came across a credible source of info that had claimed any type of NSAID is the worst possible thing to use if you suffered an injury requiring the formation of new collagen. Joint related injuries is a good example. These drugs were found to disrupt the formation of collagen in the early stages of healing which is how the body begins repairing damaged cartilage and also seem to impact the repair of connective tissue. Go to Pub Med and do a search: "NSAID Collagen Formation Connective Tissue" to see for your self. I love aspirin... An herbal answer to pain and inflammation.

PubMed Search: NSAID Collagen Formation Connective Tissue

If you want to learn everything there is to know about the harmful effects of fructose check out Dr Robert Lustig. I think he and Val actually know one another. High fructose corn syrup may be the prime reason the majority of Americans are metabolically compromised. Metabolically meaning right down to the cell level. That stuff disrupts mitochondrial function. I believe it has other harmful effects on the liver because of the things the liver does but it damages every organ in our body to some degree because it disrupts the cells ability to produce and use energy. Our tax dollars subsidized our slow death.

When my life finally becomes Zen again I want to study herbalism in depth. Doing extraction work and making tinctures seems pretty easy. Understanding these plant compounds is important. Did you know the majority medications used today are analogs of molecules found throughout nature? They know a compound found in a plant produces a number of health benefits but because it's from nature they can't patent it so they tweak it a bit. They'll add a carbon atom or remove one, they'll create a weird hydrogen bond here or there and then test it. It's generally less therapeutic and now all of a sudden there are side effects but the fact it's still capable of providing some minute benefit it's a new molecule they can patent they just have to warn you of all of the horrible other things it now does to you. My favorite side effect is "can cause death" LOL!!!

I hope you're doing well.
