We were out today cleaning up debris on our road after some fierce winds left a mess. It frustrates me that so many of our neighbors seem fine with leaving puncture hazards out there on the roadway, just waiting for someone else to handle it. It feels like everyone’s expecting others—or the government—to step in and take care of things for them.
We’ve always done our part for the community we care about—whether it’s plowing snow off the entire road during winter, picking up anything that could cause harm or even be deadly, or just keeping an eye out for each other. This stuff matters to us. But it’s disappointing to see how many people in this country act entitled, assuming others will handle everything.
I believe in the spirit of the Golden Age of America—where people roll up their sleeves and take action. We need to be the ones growing the food, ensuring protection, and stepping up where help is needed. Our quality of life depends on what we do, not what we wait for others to do.
So, move that branch, pick up the trash, or lend a hand to fix a neighbor’s fence. Be the action that makes America great, even if it’s something as simple as a road cleanup.
